Mega Man Zero
Game Boy Advance · 2026
A GBARecomp build for Mega Man Zero, with experimental wider views around the stock game.
Mega Man Zero is fast and demanding, and the GBA screen gives you very little room to react.
This GBARecomp project rebuilds the game as a native Windows app and experiments with wider views around the stock game.
Playable status
Yes, as an in-development preview. Windows builds are on the GitHub releases page. The game runs from dumps you provide: select your own USA ROM and legally obtained GBA BIOS when prompted.
It boots into gameplay with working controls, audio, and persistent saves. The opening mission has the most coverage; the rest of the game still needs broader verification.
The opening stage, the stretch the tested routes cover end to end.
What the recomp adds
Widescreen has two modes. You can use a fixed wider view, or an adaptive view that follows the shape of the window.
During gameplay, the HUD anchors to the left and boss gauges anchor to the right. Menus keep the original 240x160 presentation.
The wider modes are experimental. Enemy spawning still follows the original rules, so pop-in can appear on routes that have not been tuned yet.
