How GBARecomp joined the project family, beginning with the console BIOS before moving into commercial games.
GBARecomp began as an attempt to carry the same reusable recompilation approach into an ARM-based handheld. Its first successful binary was the Game Boy Advance BIOS rather than a game, giving the new framework a small but meaningful test of CPU translation and runtime behavior.
From there, Pokémon and The Minish Cap became early proving grounds. Their differences forced the framework to grow beyond a one-game experiment and laid the groundwork for later features such as adaptive widescreen and support for cartridge sensors.
Within the Toolkit's history, this is the moment the project family moved beyond the older console architectures it started with.
